THE FORNASETTI DREAM
IN A SUITE
Inspired by the 1950s decorative projects born from the imagination of Piero Fornasetti and Gio Ponti, the Fornasetti Suite at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan, is the only luxury hotel experience in the world where you can live the creativity and dream of Fornasetti.
Decorated by Barnaba Fornasetti in 2015 by invitation of ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, it is a journey through the most iconic pieces of the Atelier's history: from the Architettura trumeau, to the Palladiana chest of drawers and the Ultime Notizie table, accompanied in the dining room by the Capitello chairs.
The Nuvolette wallpaper completes the suite’s dreamlike scene in a dialogue with the curtain pattern. A journey of illusory games and decorative variations to get lost in the world of Fornasetti, amongst mirrors, lamps and other furnishings.

THE DUOMO ROOM AT THE SETA RESTAURANT: AN HOMAGE TO MILAN
The Duomo Sommerso panel, depicting the Milanese Cathedral, is the focal point of the decorative project for the private room in the heart of the Seta Restaurant. Inspired by a 1951 screen by Piero Fornasetti, the custom-designed panel leads into a surreal, underwater Milan, where marine animals, coral and algae coexist with Fornasetti’s muse, Lina Cavalieri, featured on custom-made corner cabinets.
The series of Cupole d’Italia plates completes the tribute to the city and the country that inspired the Fornasetti dream and enriches the recently redecorated walls with the wallpaper Foglie e Civette in Veronese green from the new Senza Tempo II collection.
The twice Michelin-starred chef, Antonio Guida, has created, especially for this occasion, a variation on his signature dish: the risotto Fornasetti, which is also a tribute to Milan and to Barnaba Fornasetti, the Artistic Director of the Atelier.
